Introduction
The
Tourism and Forestry protocol agreement was signed between the Tourism Council
Tasmania, Forestry Tasmania, Forest Industries Association of Tasmania, and
Private Forests Tasmania on the 19th September 2003. The spirit of the protocol
is to ensure that both industries, as significant contributors to the Tasmanian
economy, can reach mutually satisfactory outcomes to issues that may arise
as the result of one industry negatively impacting on the other.
Before proceeding it is important that the issue or concern is covered within the parameters of the agreement.
If you are an operator within the forest industry please refer your issue directly to the appropriate contact for either state or private forest as listed.
If you are a tourism operator we need to determine the nature of the issue within the context of the agreement.
If you have responded “no” to any of the questions below, the issue or concern may fall outside the parameters of the agreement and therefore unable to be processed. Further advice can be obtained by contacting the Tourism Council Tasmania.
If you have answered “yes” to the questions below your issue will be recorded by the Tourism Council Tasmania and referred to the appropriate regional contact within the forest industry. A response time of 48 hours has been prescribed within the agreement.
If the issue cannot be resolved at a regional level it will be referred to the relevant executive levels within the signatory organisations.
